how to predict your future

Don’t you just wish you could predict your future? Sometimes that future is a near future, other times, it’s a far future. For any of the two, wouldn’t it be handy if you could just tell what that future is?

Well, you can. I’m here to tell you, you, to a large extent (especially of the things within your control) already do. Want to know how? Keep reading.

Recently, I was ‘privileged’ to have an additional student added to one of my classes. Confession be told, in our previous classroom collision, it wasn’t a pretty aftermath. So I protested the + 1 and wanted a return to sender immediately. Well, I was met with a ‘package delayed’ message – couldn’t go back to sender. I had to keep this ‘parcel’ for a while.

During the first scene of this student’s temporal sojourn in my class, I noticed I was tensed, on edge, like I was expecting something bad to happen which wasn’t unlike the student’s history. And as I’ve been working on becoming more self-aware, I picked up on it relatively quickly and told myself to relax.

The Bible says the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off – Proverbs 23 v 18. Now, I am the righteous, at least one of them! And since the Bible does not distinguish between wrong and right expectations, I’ll take the liberty (until otherwise corrected) to assume that this promise applies to both.

So if I’m expecting something to happen and consistently remain on that expectation, it is bound to happen, because that’s GOD’s WORD. Full-stop. Now, if that expectation is bad, well, it is also bound to happen. But thank GOD for HIS grace that covers us such that the expectation does not happen as soon as the expectation seed is planted but allows us to uproot it before it becomes a tree or else, the world would be in a far worse state than it is today!

Back to my story. As soon as I noticed that wrong expectation, I noticed I was already annoyed and snappy even at the great ‘parcels’ in that room, which they did not deserve. I corrected my outlook and thoughts and that corrected my behaviour and attitude towards the class.

And guess what? The temporal package did not misbehave that lesson. I was so proud of myself, I was ready to testify of how great a teacher I art! Lol . . . But I should be proud of the Holy Spirit as He was the One that pointed out my thought process to me.

So the title of this post? How to predict your future? Well, I’m hoping you can almost guess how to do that with my example.

YOU EXPECT THE FUTURE YOU WANT TO HAPPEN, AND STAY IN THAT PLACE OF EXPECTATION NO MATTER WHAT, TILL THAT FUTURE BECOMES PRESENT, COMES TO PASS.

Right there, ladies and gentlemen is how to predict your future.

If you’re a Christian, this even works better for you because you have the guarantee of many GOD’s words and promises to you, that you can use as rain to water that seed of expectation you’ve planted, till it becomes a fruitful tree, bearing fruit for all to see in your life! See 1 Timothy 4 v 15.

Now, how does that sound? Good right? Well, don’t just enjoy the sound thereof, put it into practise. Be a doer, not just a hearer!

To your creating the future you desire, . . .
